Task Tools approached Tangram with a challenge- help them design a new drywall tool product line that would have an immediate impact in the competitive contractor grade hand tool market. Task Tools was already an established and respected brand in consumer and contractor goods however, with this new product they would need to muscle in on some long established market leaders and as a result decided that a comprehensive design strategy would help ensure success.

Tangram worked with the internal marketing team at Task-Tools to develop a set of personas for potential users of the new drywall tools and then used these personas as benchmarks to judge the concepts against. Once the overall design direction was established a series of ergonomic prototypes were produced to allow for the testing of ergonomics and overall confort. Finally, working prototpyes were CNC machined to allow the Task Tools team to discuss the tools with vendors and users prior to production of the final tools.
